About Me

Sidonie Quorn started riding from a young age, and some of her first memories are from the back of the horse. Starting out by attending weekly riding lessons at her local riding school, Sidonie showed enough dedication to be given the chance to own her own pony, Spike, when she was 10.

Her first pony was very young and had little experience, but a partnership was formed and Sidonie was able to progress to competing this pony in a variety of disciplines. This showed the patience and understanding she has had from a young age, and has always had to work for the results she achieves.

Sidonie then progressed and moved onto her next pony, Jeannie Deans, who she began to compete in BSJA Juniors. Jeannie Deans (Frenchie) and Sidonie bonded instantly and during their career together competed nationally all over the country, and progressed to receive high results. Sidonie realised that in order to gain more results she would have to build her team of ponies up, but without the funds to purchase already established ponies, she knew she would have to work hard to gain the results she desired. Spotted at a show, Sidonie was privileged enough to gain the backing of an owner. This is where Sidonie partnered pony, Fully Connected. Sidonie worked for hours to gain a relationship with the pony, and where many young people of her age would be going out shopping, Sidonie would place the hours in work on improving her performance. This hard work paid off when the partnership began to win and get placed in many of the top pony shows in the country, such as POYS, HOYS qualifiers and the BSJA Scope Festival.

The final member to join Sidonie's pony team will always remember a pleasant memory for her. Purchased as a newly broken in 4 year old, Sidonie knew that Ballyduff Bobby would be destined for big things. Hours of ground work were placed in, and although Sidonie knew she was tight for time in her junior career, she did not ever rush the pony due to her commitment to produce him properly. The partnership were dynamite, and his early years the pony qualified in second rounds, was placed at POYS, the BSJA Scope Festival and the Blue Chip Championships, as well as many other shows nationally. Ballyduff Bobby has gone on to compete throughout the UK and Europe with great success.

Sidonie then moved onto horses when she reached the age of 15. Combining competing both the ponies and horses, she knew she could not afford a top horses and would therefore have to start building a team of horse. Sidonie purchased her first horse, when he was a four year old, and placed in many hours to train and progress with him. Slowly over time she has built up her team, but without the funds for established horses, she has had to place in many hours into taking chances with younger horses and fulfilling their potential.

She also achieved getting her HGV lorry licence and became one of the youngest people in the country to obtain one.

Whilst participating in all of this, Sidonie was still in full time education. She achieved a variety of qualifications and achieved her A Levels with resulting grades of AAB, whilst still fulfilling her passion for sport.
